AJJ, Collage Obsession and TIOT reminder

Hello Everyone. Hope you are looking forward to the weekend. Here in the UK it is a Bank Holiday again so a long weekend for many. Thank you for dropping by and making my day. Lots of sport for me to watch this weekend and also an event at Sewerby Hall to fit in as well.

Just a reminder that there is still time to join us at Try it on Tuesday for the sewing or buttons challenge. You can use either or both, faux or real so I hope you will be able to make something for the challenge and have a chance to be chosen by the team as one of our top 5

At Art Journal Journey the theme is The Sea until the end of May and there are wonderful pages to admire from the many entries. All of the pages are displayed in an album each time so you can see the collection.

This is a part of a photograph that I took, out of the window, at the cafe on top of our only high shop buildings. I changed it with effects to look like a painting.

This is the original photograph with a nosy seagull looking through the window. Can you see which part of the bay I chose for my digital page.

At Collage Obsession the theme this week is postage stamps

I went down the Postman Pat route as I have been helping a neighbour to knit some recently. Our real postman wears red and black.

Have a lovely weekend whatever you are doing

Journal page and collage

Hi All. Hope your weekend is going well. Nice to have you join me here at Jumbled Crafts and a big thank you for your visits and to my new followers, a special welcome.

Art Journal Journey have the Sea as their subject for the rest of the month so I hope you will join in with all the other people who have done some amazing work as always. It is good to see that so many craft bloggers are now doing journal pages along with their other crafts.

I painted the background for this page then used felt tips to draw my fantasy wild life. The letters for the words were cut from a magazine.

Now to my digital collage for Collage Obsession where they have shades of pink as their theme for this week

The head in the middle was the one that I chose to use on the front page when I had a web site and it had lots of effects used on it to make it look the way it does now. Everything else on the collage was  in old folders on my computer or PSP brushes I have made .

Have a terrific day

Collage and photographs

Hello Everyone. Hope your week has gone well. The weather seems a bit better here today with a promise of a few days of sun and heat forecast. Thank you for your visit to Jumbled Crafts and I hope you enjoy what I am posting today.

First of all I have a digital collage for Collage Obsession where the theme is Let's Dance

I love to watch programmes on television that show street dance. It always seems so clever and to think that almost all of these dancers are self taught and do it just for fun. I found a graffiti wall and then added a few effects and silhouettes. I just love the quote though I couldn't find who actually said it.

Now for a few pics I took in our garden yesterday. It was still damp after all the rain and the wind was very strong but the beautiful plants don't seem to mind at all

This is a clematis Montana Elizabeth and it is full of lovely pink flowers--the people next door love it trailing over their fence as well. I fasten allsorts of things to the fence to add different effects.

Another clematis that trails over into someone else's garden and they love so we just let it trail

A close up of the one above

                                     Scottish bluebells and forget-me-knots
A mahonia with new leaves for next year growing from the centre

A Eucora and a beautiful Chinese lady, given to us by a neighbour,  has a Chinese mate as well. The jar lights up blue at night, powered by sunlight and we also have 200+ little lights around the garden that are also powered by sunlight. My daughter bought all of these and though they are lovely I am not sure I would have bought them.

Hellebore. We have a few of these that were from a cutting a neighbour gave to us but are now big plants, The flower heads last for months and they turn to seeds later in the year.

Hope you enjoyed the trip around some of the plants in our back garden. Will try to take some of those in the front to show you.

Have a great day

Digital Collage

Hi All. Thank you for calling in and thank you to those of you who sent some sun our way. It is a really lovely morning here with a clear blue sky. Polling Day for us in the UK and I am hoping to stay up all night to watch the result programme. I usually say I going to do that but never seem to manage it as it all gets too boring.

At Art Journal Journey the theme is The Sea and at Three Muses this week the theme is Famous and I have combined the two in a digital page/collage

I started out with one of our photographs taken at Whitby as a background and added effects to that. Next I added the 'famous' Captain Webb who was the first person to swim across the English challenge. I added the match box as they were famous as well and used by every household at the time.

Have a wonderful day everyone

Journal page and Collage

Hello Everyone. It is heavy rain and a cold wind here today so I am pleased that I will be watching lots of snooker and doing some crafting at the same time. Thank you for dropping by and hope you like what I made for today.

Another journal page for Art Journal Journey where the theme for May is Sea.

Paper Piecing Sea side page

All you need is a comfy chair and these simple things

The book was an old holiday catalogue and I cut out lots of sea coloured bits of paper for the sea pieces, then sand and dunes pieces. Next bits of different sky and the wonderful beach hut image. I cut some shapes and then stuck them all on my journal paper to make the scene. The whole thing was sprayed with a fine blue mist to add a bit of texture. It was a lot of fun to make
Today is the start of the snooker finals and the finish of the Tour de Yorkshire bike race so I have another idea for a sea page--hope it works.

Next I made a digital collage for Collage Obsession where the theme this week is Paris.

The picture was one I found on Google but could well have been one of ours as we were in Paris about 20 years ago when all the blossom was out at Notre Dame The damsels were a free download but the effects and framing were my own ideas.
I love the song by Oscar Hammerstein so added a bit of that as well.

Have a nice day everyone.

Stamp People

Hello Everyone from a wet, cold and windy NE UK coast. We are going out for lunch with Vic's sister and his mum and we have booked for a very wild and exposed part of the coast. We did book when it was a sunny and calm day. Thank you for calling in at Jumbled Crafts.

At Three Muses this week the theme is Postage stamp People

Not sure where I was going with this really but I did enjoy doing it.

Have a happy and peaceful day

Journal Pages-painted and digital

Hi All from a very sunny NE UK coast. A very Happy Earth Day to Everyone. Hope the weather is good where you are. Thank you for calling in to see what I have made today. Firstly I will tell you I have made a real mess. I was having another go at the shaving foam technique and got the stuff everywhere. It was fun though.

At Art Journal Journey the theme is favourite poem or quote and at Moo Mania and More they have the theme butterflies this time so I will enter this at both challenges.

The background for this is alcohol inks on UPO paper. This is the first time I have used this paper and it does have lots of possibilities.
The stamps are from Joanna Sheen and Hobby Art and the quote I found on Google

My digital piece is for Three Muses where the theme is a book cover

I couldn't resist doing a fun one. The background I made from brushes in Paint Shop Pro and a leather effect. The image was from Google.

Off now to collect my new, new glasses. I hope I don't lose anything else especially when I only just got them a while ago.

Digital Art Page and Happy Mail

Hello Everyone. Welcome to Jumbled Crafts and thank you for calling in.

Today I have a digital creation that is for the challenge Stone Angels at Three Muses and also for Art Journal Journey where the theme is Favourite poem or quote

I used 'The Angel' by Michelangelo for the background and the rest of the collage as well. The quote is also by the master. This is such a wonderful work of his I think.

Now to my Happy Mail which arrived yesterday. It was from Valerie and had a beautiful Easter Card and also another card from Valerie and Susi to thank me for being the hostess at AJJ last month.

This is the outside of the box that everything was packed in--the postman thought it was wonderful--well so did Vic and me .

This was what was inside. Such wonders and a beautiful bag that I have already put my knitting in. The bag is what Valerie made for a challenge we gave to each other a few weeks ago. The brief was to sew something with some applique and a theme of Spring. This bag is perfect for the brief. The challenge came about as we both had been given new sewing machines that do complicated stuff we didn't know about.

This is my piece and I am sorry to say it still isn't finished as I need to do something with the back of it which looks awful. Well I am only learning about this machine.

Thank you to Valerie for the wonderful bag and goodies and for the challenge.

Have a nice day everyone

Abundance Collage and Poetry Journal page

Happy Easter to those who celebrate it. A big welcome to my new followers and to everyone who calls in to Jumbled Crafts. Thank you for your visit.

This time at Art Journal Journey you can do a journal page to illustrate Your favourite poems or quotes.

I decided I would paint my version of the Wordsworth poem Daffodils. I am sure it a favourite poem of many of us as it seemed to be one the first poems we did at school. If you would like to read the whole poem you can find it here.
I asked my husband what style he thought I had painted this in and he said----- if he screwed his eyes up and glanced at it quickly, he would have thought it was a Monet! I think he needs new glasses.

At Collage Obsession this week the theme is Abundance so lots of scope for that one

I did a digital, animated collage for this theme. With my daughter's cats in mind I thought of all the love that a pet can have for its owner.

Have a lovely weekend whatever you are doing. We aren't doing anything special  but I'm sure we will enjoy it anyway.

Moon Dance collage

Hello Everyone. Hope you are all safe from the awful windy and cold weather that seems to be in a lot of places. Nice and warm here in the craft room and today it looks sunny outside as well. Thank you for your visit and for all the lovely comments you leave.

At Three Muses this time the theme is Song Lyrics or Poem

I have chosen one of my favourite singers and one of my favourite songs of his.

You can hear Van Morrison singing Moon Dance here on U-Tube

Valerie and Susi asked me to link this to Art Journal Journey as well as they have the theme poems and quotes for the month of April. There are lots of poems called Moon Dance by varying poets but not sure if my versions fits them visually.

Been asked to add this at Opus Gluei which I hadn't seen before and they have the theme to use black and one other colour so mine is black and blue.

Have a great day everyone

Collage and Journal Page

Hi All from a dull and wet NE UK coast. Thank you for brightening my day by calling in at my blog.

At Art Journal Journey you still have a few of days left to join in with the Things with Wings challenge. Already over 250 wonderful pieces of artwork are on show if you go here you can see them as a collection.

A digital page again today from me with a  background painted in Paint Shop Pro and other pictures I have had in folders for a long time. I think the bird one is Gecko Galz

Another digital offering for Collage Obsession where they have Bunnies as the theme for this week.

Did I hear a big 'Ahh'. The images were found on Google and everything else I created in Paint Shop Pro

Have a lovely weekend and don't forget the clocks got forward in the UK so the weather will be sunny and bright for six months--well I can dream.

Eggstraordinary

Hi All. Thank you for your visit to Jumbled Crafts. Always nice to know people are calling in.

I have a collage that will fit three of the blog challenges I always join in. That doesn't happen too often for sure.

At Moo Mania and More and Three Muses they have the theme Eggs. At
Art Journal Journey the Things with Wings is still the theme. Lots more challenge blogs seem to have birds in mind at the moment.

I used one of our photographs as a background for this lovely black and white image which is free from here. Everything has digital effects and colouring added. Then I added a frame.

Have a good day

Top Hat and Lasso

Hello Everyone and a big thank you for calling in to see what I have done today.
The title sounds as though I will be wearing fancy dress but it is really the theme for two challenges. Sorting things out in my craft room is still ongoing but the computer is now set up again thanks to Vic doing that part for me.

At Every Inchie Monday the theme is lasso

I used wool to make my little lasso then added some bling

Collage Obsession has Top Hat as the theme for this week

I just added some effects to a PSP tube then duplicated it and mirrored the image. The frame is a PSP script .

That's it from me for today--off to do more sorting out in the crafty bit of this little room.

Enjoy whatever you are doing

Love Chrissie xx

Journal Page with Wings

Hello Everyone. A warm welcome to my new followers and to old followers and friends as well. Always great to have you visit Jumbled Crafts and a big thank you for your support. If I don't get around to commenting on your blogs for the next few days it is because I am changing everything around in my craft/ computer room. I have mixed feelings about this. I really want everything to be sorted out and to make more space but when I look at all the things I have hoarded for years, I am dreading it. I do have my i-pad so I am hoping to keep up with commenting.

At Art Journal Journey I am the guest hostess this month and we have the theme Things with Wings. There seem to be a lot of challenges that have the same idea so I guess we all think of birds, angels and flying insects when Spring arrives.

This is a digital piece. The crow and cock image is one I scanned from an old book and everything else was created in Paint Shop Pro. I think this will be suitable for Moo Mania and More as well because their theme for the next few days is still poultry

Have a lovely day everyone

Wings and Stripes

Hello Everyone. How lovely that you visited Jumbled Crafts today and a thank you for your support which is always encouraging.

At Three Muses this week the theme is Stripes. Always amazing artwork from the people who join in.

Mine is all things I have had in folders for a long time and a few digital paint brushes I made to use on all sorts of things.

At Art Journal Journey we still have Things with Wings and it is wonderful that so many people are enjoying the theme and that I am enjoying visiting all of them as hostess for March. I would like also to enter this at Mixed Media World

I started out with a 5inches x 7inchies piece of gloss photo paper. Then I made drops of alcohol ink and blew them here and there with a straw--great fun I can tell you. Be sure to have some scrap paper underneath though.

Whilst it was drying I printed, onto a book page, some digital images from With Wild Abandon. Then I cut them out and stuck them onto the card. Last but not least I stamped a couple of Chocolate Baroque images to fill in the gaps. This is a page in the journal that Valerie sent to me.

Have a wonderful day

Journal page, collage and bookmark

Hi All. Welcome to Jumbled Crafts and thank you for calling in.

A few things to show you today.

For Art Journal Journey and, the Things with Wings theme there, I have made a mixed media piece today

The background is mainly Distressed Stains as I do like the pale shades you can get with those. When the page was dry I printed on the angel and the quotes. Then coloured in some of the angel with Promarkers to make her stand out more

Collage Obsession have Shades of Green and they have a square you can use with different greens.

As it is St Patrick's Day on Tuesday and I am one quarter Irish I thought I would make a greeting for the Day from Me to You. Maybe a few more Irish greeting could turn up as well ???

Now for Moo Mania where they have the fabulous theme of  Poultry. You don't have to add a Moo to your work but I usually try to fit one in somewhere

It is a few years since I found this wonderful cockerel image and coloured it digitally. I thought I would use it to make myself a bookmark as I am always loosing them. The background paper is made from the same image and I made a Moo for the quote.

Have a lovely weekend

Chrissie xx

Digital Collage

Hello All. Hope your day is going well and your weather is OK . We have lots of sunshine but a bitter cold wind again unfortunately. Nice and warm in here at Jumbled Crafts so thank you for your visit.

I'm still enjoying my hostess spot at Art Journal Journey and have done another digital piece for today.

I thought I'd have an insect as my subject as it fits in nicely with the 'Things with Wings' theme

All I did was add a few effects to a photograph that Vic took in our garden and then I added the beautiful quote that I found on Google.

A few more photographs of my daughter's cats for the cat lovers.

So sweet and gentle in the waste basket

Not so sweet and gentle on the laundry basket

Everybody's asleep except Oscar

Oscar and Willow learning how to tune a new guitar

Hiding behind the fern in the Bathroom

Hope you enjoyed seeing 'the boys'

Have a good day or sleep well if you are a later visitor

Turquoise and Red

Hi All. Lovely sunny day here and wonderful that you dropped by to see what I have made. Thank you for being such kind friends and followers.

At Three Muses this week the theme is Turquoise and Red and I couldn't resist making something that would fit in at Art Journal Journey as well. Seems only right and proper with me being hostess there this month for the Things with Wings theme. Hope you will join in both challenges.

All digitally created with the birds and quote found on Google.

As I haven't much to show you today I thought you might like to see Freddy the Teddy
I finished knitting him 2 days ago from a pattern and wool that my daughter bought for me along with other toy patterns and wool. The  types of wool are ones I would never buy and are difficult to knit but lovely and soft when made into the toy. I am going to start on a hedgehog today with another wool I have never seen before. My daughter does like to keep me busy.

Have a lovely day Everyone

Love from Freddy and Chrissie xx

From digital collage to card and envelope

Hello to everyone who drops in and thank you for your visit to Jumbled Crafts.

Did anyone watch the Davis Cup tennis yesterday? It was just amazing and GB won both of the matches in the end. It is the doubles today so I am really looking forward to that.

Now to my artwork which is for Art Journal Journey where we have the theme 'Things with Wings'. Also I am going to enter it into the challenge at Collage Obsession where it is an open challenge this time.

This is my digital collage with a background I made from a flower catalogue and images I had in an old folder. I made half of the collage then duplicated and mirrored it. I found the quote on Google.
Before I added the quote I printed out the collage onto card, an envelope to match the card and an inner with a faded version of the collage. Then I printed out the butterflies on glossy photo paper to decoupaged them onto the card. The MUM was cut from a card that a neighbour had given to me-all my friends and neighbours bring me their old cards to me and love seeing what I make with them.

Inside the card--Vic and me made up the verse as it is for his mum and she doesn't like anything 'mushy'. It is for Mother's Day.

This is the outside of the card with back and front almost the same.

Hope you have a great day everyone or sleep well if you are going to bed soon

Love Chrissie xx
