They who have wings at Try It on Tuesday

Hello Everyone and welcome to Jumbled Crafts. Thank you for your visit and I hope what you find here will inspire you to join in the challenge. If you would like inspiration you can go here to see what the rest of team have made and their wonderful and varied ideas.

Try it on Tuesday's new theme is 'They who have Wings' and I just kept it simple and chose a bird even though you can invent lots of things with wings I'm sure.

I made a journal page. Firstly I painted the thick paper with white acrylic then dropped a few colours of alcohol ink here and there until it covered the white. When it was dry I drew flower and leaf shapes around the ink splodges to make the background. The dove shape is a template I have had for a long time and you can cut on the dotted line to make the wing stand up for cards etc. The 'keep calm and create peace' is from a book of Keep Calm quotes that I bought to use for projects. I drew the peace branch and leaves and tied the keep calm tag with a bit of blue embroidery silk.

I am also going to enter this at Art Journal Journey as it is the last day of the Things with Wings challenge where I was hostess for March. Thank you to Susi and Valerie for inviting me and to everyone who entered the challenge-it was amazing to visit all of your blogs and see your works of art. I hope you will join in with their next challenge for April.

Bye for now

Inchie and Hedgehogs

Hi to all who visit Jumbled Crafts and thank you for calling in to see what is on offer in this post.

At Every Inchie Monday the theme this week is Oak

I drew an acorn and leaves on a little piece of canvas then stitched it onto a felt inchie. It had to have some bling to match all the other inchies this year so I added sequins and beads to the corners.

As the inchie was all I had to show today I thought I would show you what I have been knitting while I watch television.

The baby hedgehog is so naughty he is now packed up in a box and ready to be posted to a new home. This is another of the patterns that my daughter bought for me with the wool to knit them. The next one is a Children in Need bear but at the moment I am knitting myself a cardigan-I started it yesterday.

We have blue sky,sun and a freezing cold wind-well you can't have everything can you?

Collage and Journal Page

Hi All from a dull and wet NE UK coast. Thank you for brightening my day by calling in at my blog.

At Art Journal Journey you still have a few of days left to join in with the Things with Wings challenge. Already over 250 wonderful pieces of artwork are on show if you go here you can see them as a collection.

A digital page again today from me with a  background painted in Paint Shop Pro and other pictures I have had in folders for a long time. I think the bird one is Gecko Galz

Another digital offering for Collage Obsession where they have Bunnies as the theme for this week.

Did I hear a big 'Ahh'. The images were found on Google and everything else I created in Paint Shop Pro

Have a lovely weekend and don't forget the clocks got forward in the UK so the weather will be sunny and bright for six months--well I can dream.

Eggstraordinary

Hi All. Thank you for your visit to Jumbled Crafts. Always nice to know people are calling in.

I have a collage that will fit three of the blog challenges I always join in. That doesn't happen too often for sure.

At Moo Mania and More and Three Muses they have the theme Eggs. At
Art Journal Journey the Things with Wings is still the theme. Lots more challenge blogs seem to have birds in mind at the moment.

I used one of our photographs as a background for this lovely black and white image which is free from here. Everything has digital effects and colouring added. Then I added a frame.

Have a good day

AJJ Something else with wings

Hello Everyone. Another new day with sunshine and frost for us but it looks like being a great day to go for a walk somewhere nice. Thank you for calling in and for any comments which are always welcome

At Art Journal Journey you have until the end of March to join us for the Things with Wings challenge. That is when I will be hanging up my hostess hat  but looking forward to joining in with Valerie and Susi and their wonderful ideas.

Today I have two pages.

A few years ago I had a passion for digitally painting fairies. I even bought a couple of books with ideas to help me draw and paint fairies. Not sure I ever quite mastered it now I look at the folder with my fairy work in it. For this page I surrounded one of my fairies with lots of flowers and gave her a mirror in the middle of the forest.
This page I started off with a green background and sprayed it with various colours and glitter. My fairy was printed out and stuck onto the page. She did pop into the beauticians for a make-up session. I couldn't resist using a black pen to add details and draw a little butterfly to fill a gap.

Have a wonderful day

Top Hat and Lasso

Hello Everyone and a big thank you for calling in to see what I have done today.
The title sounds as though I will be wearing fancy dress but it is really the theme for two challenges. Sorting things out in my craft room is still ongoing but the computer is now set up again thanks to Vic doing that part for me.

At Every Inchie Monday the theme is lasso

I used wool to make my little lasso then added some bling

Collage Obsession has Top Hat as the theme for this week

I just added some effects to a PSP tube then duplicated it and mirrored the image. The frame is a PSP script .

That's it from me for today--off to do more sorting out in the crafty bit of this little room.

Enjoy whatever you are doing

Journal Page with Wings

Hello Everyone. A warm welcome to my new followers and to old followers and friends as well. Always great to have you visit Jumbled Crafts and a big thank you for your support. If I don't get around to commenting on your blogs for the next few days it is because I am changing everything around in my craft/ computer room. I have mixed feelings about this. I really want everything to be sorted out and to make more space but when I look at all the things I have hoarded for years, I am dreading it. I do have my i-pad so I am hoping to keep up with commenting.

At Art Journal Journey I am the guest hostess this month and we have the theme Things with Wings. There seem to be a lot of challenges that have the same idea so I guess we all think of birds, angels and flying insects when Spring arrives.

This is a digital piece. The crow and cock image is one I scanned from an old book and everything else was created in Paint Shop Pro. I think this will be suitable for Moo Mania and More as well because their theme for the next few days is still poultry

Have a lovely day everyone

Things with Wings

Hi All. Eclipse day today and our sky doesn't seem to cloudy at the moment. I won't see the total eclipse because at that time I should be having blood tests. Hope someone gets some photographs of it.

Thank you for visiting today. I  have a mixed media piece to show you that I have done for Art journal Journey and the Things with Wings challenge that I am hosting for this month. I hope you will join in with your take on the theme. If you go here you can see all of the entries so far--on the way to 200 already. It is amazing to see all of ideas and different styles.

The background is a photograph of the sunset that Vic took a while ago. I made the little owls from bits of felt my daughter gave to me and added sequins and beads for sparkle. The branch is also made from felt so it stands out against the background

Have a wonderful day

Wings and Stripes

Hello Everyone. How lovely that you visited Jumbled Crafts today and a thank you for your support which is always encouraging.

At Three Muses this week the theme is Stripes. Always amazing artwork from the people who join in.

Mine is all things I have had in folders for a long time and a few digital paint brushes I made to use on all sorts of things.

At Art Journal Journey we still have Things with Wings and it is wonderful that so many people are enjoying the theme and that I am enjoying visiting all of them as hostess for March. I would like also to enter this at Mixed Media World

I started out with a 5inches x 7inchies piece of gloss photo paper. Then I made drops of alcohol ink and blew them here and there with a straw--great fun I can tell you. Be sure to have some scrap paper underneath though.

Whilst it was drying I printed, onto a book page, some digital images from With Wild Abandon. Then I cut them out and stuck them onto the card. Last but not least I stamped a couple of Chocolate Baroque images to fill in the gaps. This is a page in the journal that Valerie sent to me.

Have a wonderful day

Try it on Tuesday Hats

Hello Everyone and welcome to Jumbled Crafts. Always great to see you here and a big thank you for your comments and friendship.

Time for a new challenge at Try it on Tuesday and you can see the wonderful ideas that my teamies have made here. . I am sure you will feel inspired to join in with us and I look forward to seeing what you make

As it is St Patrick's Day I have chosen to make a leprechaun hat and card

The hat is based on a big circle a smaller circle and a piece of card to fasten them together. I made the belt and buckle from card and also the shamrock shapes.. The pattern for the hat and the card background was made in Paint Shop Pro in different sizes. I added a big black, leatherette flower to make the top of the hat a bit more interesting-not sure it does really.

Have a wonderful day and don't forget to join me at AJJ this month where I am the guest hostess.

Inchie and Journal Page

Hello to all who call in at Jumbled Crafts. Hope you enjoyed Mother's Day yesterday if you are in the UK. Thank you for your visit today and for any comments that you leave which are always so enjoyable to read.

Today it is our Silver Wedding Anniversary
Here we are 25 years ago getting married in Jamaica which was very special.

At Every Inchie Monday the theme this week is Nail

Time to raid Vic's tool box and find some very small nails and fastened them onto a felt inchie. Added sequins and beads as well to match the other inchies I have made so far this year.

At Art Journal Journey the Things with Wings theme is going very well with 160 beautiful works of art already. I am so pleased to be the hostess and have new ideas popping into my head all the time.

Today it is a digital page

I used a face I painted in Paint Shop Pro and changed her makeup a bit then added lots of butterfly wings as hair and a collar. Then I made a background using the same wings image. I hope if you change your hair it changes your life for the better. Not sure I really like mine being grey but it does save having to colour it every few weeks.

Journal page, collage and bookmark

Hi All. Welcome to Jumbled Crafts and thank you for calling in.

A few things to show you today.

For Art Journal Journey and, the Things with Wings theme there, I have made a mixed media piece today

The background is mainly Distressed Stains as I do like the pale shades you can get with those. When the page was dry I printed on the angel and the quotes. Then coloured in some of the angel with Promarkers to make her stand out more

Collage Obsession have Shades of Green and they have a square you can use with different greens.

As it is St Patrick's Day on Tuesday and I am one quarter Irish I thought I would make a greeting for the Day from Me to You. Maybe a few more Irish greeting could turn up as well ???

Now for Moo Mania where they have the fabulous theme of  Poultry. You don't have to add a Moo to your work but I usually try to fit one in somewhere

It is a few years since I found this wonderful cockerel image and coloured it digitally. I thought I would use it to make myself a bookmark as I am always loosing them. The background paper is made from the same image and I made a Moo for the quote.

Have a lovely weekend

Chrissie xx

Digital Collage

Hello All. Hope your day is going well and your weather is OK . We have lots of sunshine but a bitter cold wind again unfortunately. Nice and warm in here at Jumbled Crafts so thank you for your visit.

I'm still enjoying my hostess spot at Art Journal Journey and have done another digital piece for today.

I thought I'd have an insect as my subject as it fits in nicely with the 'Things with Wings' theme

All I did was add a few effects to a photograph that Vic took in our garden and then I added the beautiful quote that I found on Google.

A few more photographs of my daughter's cats for the cat lovers.

So sweet and gentle in the waste basket

Not so sweet and gentle on the laundry basket

Everybody's asleep except Oscar

Oscar and Willow learning how to tune a new guitar

Hiding behind the fern in the Bathroom

Hope you enjoyed seeing 'the boys'

Have a good day or sleep well if you are a later visitor

Turquoise and Red

Hi All. Lovely sunny day here and wonderful that you dropped by to see what I have made. Thank you for being such kind friends and followers.

At Three Muses this week the theme is Turquoise and Red and I couldn't resist making something that would fit in at Art Journal Journey as well. Seems only right and proper with me being hostess there this month for the Things with Wings theme. Hope you will join in both challenges.

All digitally created with the birds and quote found on Google.

As I haven't much to show you today I thought you might like to see Freddy the Teddy
I finished knitting him 2 days ago from a pattern and wool that my daughter bought for me along with other toy patterns and wool. The  types of wool are ones I would never buy and are difficult to knit but lovely and soft when made into the toy. I am going to start on a hedgehog today with another wool I have never seen before. My daughter does like to keep me busy.

Have a lovely day Everyone

Love from Freddy and Chrissie xx

Egyptian Inchie and Birds Journal Page

Hello All from a sunny NE UK coast. We have a thick frost as well but it should soon melt with the sun on it. Hope you enjoy what you see here today and thank you for calling in.

At Every Inchie Monday the theme for this week is Egyptian.

I found this figure on Google and made her Inchie size then added a couple of gold jewels. What a great theme to choose with so many rich things to pick.

For Art Journal Journey today I chose to do birds. I am really enjoying my hostess month there and new ideas keep popping into my head for the 'Things with Wings' theme. Journaling is such a great way to just be 'you' so I hope to see you on the list of entries with your versions of the theme.

The first thing I did was to lightly print the bird images onto the paper. Then I did a background over the images using Distressed Stains. Next I drew a few musical notes here and there and drew the leaves. When all that was dry I printed on the quote. Back to the birds I went over the shapes with a black pen then coloured them in with Promarkers.

Hope you day goes well

Love Chrissie xx

From digital collage to card and envelope

Hello to everyone who drops in and thank you for your visit to Jumbled Crafts.

Did anyone watch the Davis Cup tennis yesterday? It was just amazing and GB won both of the matches in the end. It is the doubles today so I am really looking forward to that.

Now to my artwork which is for Art Journal Journey where we have the theme 'Things with Wings'. Also I am going to enter it into the challenge at Collage Obsession where it is an open challenge this time.

This is my digital collage with a background I made from a flower catalogue and images I had in an old folder. I made half of the collage then duplicated and mirrored it. I found the quote on Google.
Before I added the quote I printed out the collage onto card, an envelope to match the card and an inner with a faded version of the collage. Then I printed out the butterflies on glossy photo paper to decoupaged them onto the card. The MUM was cut from a card that a neighbour had given to me-all my friends and neighbours bring me their old cards to me and love seeing what I make with them.

Inside the card--Vic and me made up the verse as it is for his mum and she doesn't like anything 'mushy'. It is for Mother's Day.

This is the outside of the card with back and front almost the same.

Hope you have a great day everyone or sleep well if you are going to bed soon

Things With Wings

Hello Everyone hope your week has gone well and that you are looking forward to the weekend. Thank you for dropping by to see what I have made for post today.

This is another page for Art journal Journey. I am really enjoying being the March hostess there and visiting all the blogs of the people entering. What an amazing collection of ideas and styles.

I found the wonderful image of the Cockatrice on a heraldic website. the dragon is a stamp by Abracadabra and the rain by Susi Rivers. The background is another one made by putting water in tin and dropping on alcohol ink then float the paper on top of the mixture. I made a few of them at the same time just dropping a different colour on each time to make them different.

Have a lovely weekend

Things with Wings and Sky

Hello Dear Friends and Followers. Nice to have you call in at Jumbled Crafts and thank you for the wonderful comments that you leave to encourage me on my crafting adventure.

Here is another page for Art Journal Journey as part of my hostess month. I am really enjoying visiting the blogs of the people who enter the challenge and love the different takes on the theme

I made the background in a baking tin with a layer of water and alcohol ink squirted on top of the water. Then I carefully floated the page on the water to collect some of the ink. When it was dry I printed the wonderful images onto it. They are all from 'with wild abandon' Then I coloured some of the images with Promarkers. I would also like to add this to the challenge at Moo Mania as they have blackbird as their theme this time. You can make anything you like just as long as you follow the theme.

Next comes The Three Muses where the theme is the 'Sky's the Limit'. Well it certainly was for me as I seem to change personality when I 'go digital'

I started off with one of our photographs that showed a clear blue sky with just the pirate flag and the lights-I digitally painted in clouds. I then found a photograph of me posing on the seafront and took away the background, then and added two vases to show how skilled I am at tightrope walking--NOT. The beautiful seagulls I had in an old folder and the text on the right and the bottom were brushes I made a while ago. The other text is just thought up and I filled the spaces with those. Everything was digitized when they were assembled.

This would also be ok for AJJ I think

Hope you have a lovely day today.

Pearls for Girls at TIOT

Hello Everyone and a warm welcome to Jumbled Crafts and to the new challenge at Try it on Tuesday. It was really lovely to see the entries for the Tic, Tac Toe and to be inspired by the wonderful ideas.

This time the theme is Pearls for Girls and I hope you will go here and see the stunning projects that my teamies have made.

I made a birthday card. The first thing I did was Distress around the edges of the card and draw a border of stitching. I just realised that I did this on the last TIOT project as well-must think of a new edging I reckon.

Next I stuck on a piece of plaid paper and a piece of paper with a flower on it. Then I cut some shapes with a Sizzix die set. The body shape is one I found on a free to use site online and 'dressed it' with a bit of lace and fabric. Now for the pearls bit. I stitched on some from an old set of pearls and the others are stuck on.
Can't wait to see what  you make.

Thank you for calling in. Have a wonderful day and don't forget to join me at AJJ this month where I am the guest hostess.

Inchie Love and AJJ

Hi All. Nice of you to call in. Thank You. My life is still a bit different but I feel we are finding more time to do what we want now and we are a bit more organised with MIL. Thank you for everyone's support.

At Every Inchie Monday this week the theme is love

Just a simple heart with jewels and a bit of embroidery for the word. Bet there will be some amazing ideas as there usually is.

At Art Journal Journey this month the theme is 'Things with Wings' and I was honoured to asked to be the Guest Hostess. It is their 4th birthday there so I hope lots of you will join in with a page or two to celebrate. You can join in as many times as you like and link to as many other challenges as you like as well.

A digital page from me today

I made the fairy in Paint Shop Pro many years ago and think this is only her second outing. The background and the bird design I found free to use online but added my own twists to them both.

Have a great day or sleep well depending on what time you visit.
