Flowery Canvas

Good Day All. Thank you for dropping by. I didn't stay up all night to watch the election results as the first thing they said was an exit poll had predicted what the number of members for each party would be. By 12.30 am I was fed-up of hearing about it and how right it had been so far, so I went to bed. Seems they were right by the looks of what is on television this morning.

At Moo Mania and More the theme this time is Flowers and at Anything but Cute it is Vintage Garden

I made this canvas which fits in with both the challenges

Firstly I used a stencil and Grunge Paste on the canvas then I used various Rangers Distress crackle paint. It didn't seem to crackle at all but I did like the effect it achieved. I then sprayed it lightly with Cosmic Glitter Mist.

I added ribbon or paper flowers that I made and a few cut-outs from a box of oddments that people have sent to me. The centres of the large ribbon flowers are some beautiful buttons that my friend Rose sent to me--thank you Rose

Have a great day

A Canvas

Hello Everyone and welcome to my little bit of Blogland. Always good to have visitors and thank you for calling in.

I didn't go out at all yesterday as the weather was so awful-hope it stays better today- it does look quite nice at the moment.

At The Craft Room this time they have two charts to follow. One has Autumn colours and the Other one has Spring Colours. I followed the Autumn colours and made a decorated canvas

I started out by sticking lots of rectangles onto the blank canvas then painting them in the red emulsion paint. Next I randomly added Grunge Paste thinned down. When that was dry I coloured it with various Distressed inks that were -part of the colour chart. The flower picture is a scanogram pic of some of our flowers and the leaves and berries are artificial and have been in my bits and bobs box for ages.

Thank you to the team at The Craft-Room for choosing my scrapbook page as one of your top three  entries for the last challenge-always an honour.

I am linking this to Moo Mania and More here their Autumn Collours Challenge is coming to an end--can't wait to see what they have for us next.

Have a beautiful day everyone

Inchie and canvas

Hello Everyone. Lovely to have you drop in at Jumbled Crafts-thank you for the comments you leave which are always so encouraging.

This week the theme for Every Inchie Monday is privacy. Not sure I have really captured privacy with my effort but I guess you are private behind a mask be it real or pretending to be something that you aren't to conceal the real you.

A squiggly background with a little mask I made and an obscure head--you need to look carefully to see that :)

Now to Country View Challenges where the theme is Word Play and also to Moo Mania and More where this time it is texture.

I chose the words first and then wondered how to represent them. I have had the wooden windmill for a while so that was just right for 'turning' as was the wooden screw emblie.  The wooden diamonds have points so they seemed right for the canvas. Windmill, diamonds and screws I bought from Crafty Emblies but not sure what happened to them.

I say canvas but it is really corrugated card which is part of the texture challenge. I added Grunge paste and metal paint to part of it to add  more texture. Then there is the wood as well and thick matte emulsion around the edges

Have a lovely day

Craft-Room and Three Muses

Hi Everyone. A few days since I last posted and I don't know where the time has gone at all. Hope you are having a good week and thank you for calling in at Jumbled Crafts.

This time at the Craft Room Challenge the theme is Roses and Romance-always lovely to join in their challenges with such terrific samples and entries.

I made this from a piece of corrugated card from a box and it measure about 12x12 inches. For the background I used a paper napkin that Alison had sent to me with other goodies. I thought it was just right for this challenge. The boy and girl are from Gecko Galz and I cut the little rose posies from a sheet of paper to add here and there where it was a bit bare. The wheel in the middle made of paper with hearts on it and I added the pinched hearts. Then I painted around the edges of the card with acrylic paint and all over the back with the same colour as I am hoping to use it as a journal cover when I find a piece of card the same size to use for the journal back.

I have found another challenge blog where I can indulge myself with digital artwork. It is called Three Muses and this week they have the theme Stylish Ladies

Not sure what I did except that I found the picture of a new, trendy, coffee bar that has just opened in London. I added the ladies from different places and used effects on them. Then they met up for coffee in this very stylish place. I used a frame and then added a border with a brick texture.

Hope you are having a really nice day

Craft Room and Rhedd's Creative Spirit

Hello Everyone who drops by and thank you for visiting. It is a beautiful sunny day here and we are off for a walk to the seafront and along the beach in a short while.

I have combined 2 challenges with this piece  and I did make it with both of them in mind so equal billing for them.

At Rhedd's Creative Spirit the theme is to change something as you wish--it will be that most times but there could be a twist sometimes so make sure you look each month. At Craft-Room Challenge the theme is the 20th century. Always great themes to think about there.

I bought 4 small canvases and I have used one of them to make this picture. The background and the flowers are made from kitchen roll that I used to mop up Spray Inks when I was making something else.

Amazing how many sheets get covered in the ink and they look so pretty. I used the Tattered Flowers Die to make the flowers.
The photograph is of my grandma and grandad and my dad and I changed it from sepia to a brighter shade. All dead now and I only have one aunt left of that generation and she is in her late 80s. The photograph was taken in 1920 and it was a time not long after the war and people started to relax more. I never saw my grandad without a black bow tie but I didn't think I would see him wearing one whilst paddling in the sea. I thought I would give the picture to my aunt as we are going to see her on Saturday and it is a long time since we met-up but we do speak on the phone quite often.

Have a lovely day

Tag and canvas

Welcome to Jumbled Crafts and thank you for dropping by.

I hope everyone is safe and that the wind and rain haven't caused you any damage where you live. It did keep us awake but we can soon catch-up on that I'm sure. At the moment it is still windy but we do have some sunshine which is lovely.

This time at Allsorts Challenge Blog the theme is brown. blue and aqua.

I thought I would try a canvas as I bought four in a pack a while ago but haven't used any of them before. First of all I used crayons on the canvas in the required colours. I then added lace and ribbon in the colours as well. The images I cut from a calendar that my daughter gave to me last year. I did recolour bits of the images to fit the challenge theme. Last thing to add was the jewels-the blue ones at the top look more aqua but they are very blue and the bottoms ones are aqua.

Next is the Tag Along Challenge for this week where anything goes so lots of scope to join in there.

Here is what I made to wish everyone a Happy New Year when it comes. I stuck foil tape to the tag and embossed it in the Tim Holtz gears folder. Then I added alcohol inks and let them spread into each other. The nesties circle is in shiny black card and I drew white dots around the edge. I cut out the glass and bottle image from a magazine then added the little label.

Have wonderful day

Moos and photographs

Happy weekend everyone. I hope the sun is shining where you are as it is here. It does seem a bit cooler today but that's fine because we are going to a seafood festival down on the harbour. I am not a seafood fan myself but I bet there will be lots of other things going on as well.

This time at Moo Mania the theme is beard.

I made this page with three of my top guys. Ewan McGreggor, Sting and David Beckham. Not sure they have had beards very often but I think they look terrific with them.

The backing paper is some I have had for years made by K and Company and this paper pad is called Life's Journey with some fab paper in it. I sprayed it with home made colours--made from food colouring and then finished off with some gold Cosmic Shimmer Mist.

Next came some corrugated card. I swiped an old black ink pad over that to bring out the corrugations.

The Moos are mounted onto a piece of card that I painted. The letters are from a couple of sets I have printed out on the computer. Oh I forgot to mention the stamp down the side which I bought at B and Q and is really for stamping on a wall. I thought it looked a bit like one of David's tattoos.

These are a few pics that Vic took yesterday in our little garden. At the moment it is packed full of flowers, veg and herbs and all the insects and creatures just love it. There was a hedgehog in amongst everything the other morning enjoying a good feed on something.

Butterflies, bees and hoverflies love buddleia

Bees and Hoverflies love coriander-so do I :)

Hoverflies love feverfew.

Have a great day

Create a Scene

Hello to everyone who visits Jumbled Crafts today-always good to have you pop in.

This time at Try it on Tuesday  you are invited to Create a Scene which sounded like something nice to try. There are wonderful samples by the design team and also some stunning entries as well.

I made this small canvas and as the words say it is a Garden--well a Japanese Garden but I couldn't find the word for that.

I made the background using shaving foam and Adirondack Alcohol Inks. The colours I used are Eggplant and Lettuce. I then distressed around the edges with Tim Holtz  Broken China Ink then I was ready to stamp the scene. First I stamped the lady and masked her so that I could stamps the trees and plants around her. All of the stamps are from a Hobby Art set.  The images are coloured with felt tips as they were the only ones that seemed to work on the shaving foam background.  It smells really nice :)

Have a great day
