Photographs and card

Hello to Everyone who drops in today--hope it is sunny and bright where you are as it is her in the NE UK.

At Technique Time Tuesday the challenge this time is to make a Faux Frame using the wonderful video there as your guide.

It is a great technique-simple but very effective and one I will return often I'm sure. I am so pleased to have found this blog and to learn this sort of thing.

I did say earlier in the week about our trip to Hull and that there would be some photographs but when Vic showed me how many he had taken I asked him to put a few on Flickr with a link as it would have been too many for on my blog. He has posted a selection here if you would like to see them--it is open to everyone.

My main reason for wanting to go there was to visit the Maritime Museum in Hull as they had design exhibition of ganseys and jackets made, using the gansey pattern,s by students at the Art and Design College. Just to say that Hull has 8 free museums, a wonderful art gallery and The Deep that is well worth a visit. We also found lots of places we hadn't visited before.

Jackets and hats made by the students--the work on them was stunning and they were made in a cream silk like material.

Many displays of original ganseys knitted with very fine wool on very thin needles.

The ceiling of the room where they were exhibited. The whole building is amazing and is centered around the whaling industry that used to be in Hull. Wonderful samples of scrimshaw.

Have a great weekend

Love Chrissie x
