Card and Tag are one

Hi All. Not as hot here today so we are going off for the day soon to visit a little coastal town further down the coast. It does involve a few bus rides but always nice to go somewhere different I think. Thank you for calling in today

At Craft Room Challenge this time the theme is Summer Flowers and at Our Creative Corner it is Summertime. I combined the two to make a card for my daughter's birthday It was a very hot summer when she was born and difficult to keep cool with all the extra weight-worth it in the end though :)

I made this card using the Chocolate Baroque tag holder as the centre piece. The flowers are felt and were made from some bits of felt my daughter was throwing away and I asked if I could rescue them. I used the smaller pieces from the Tattered Flowers Die by Tim Holtz and the beautiful brads were sent to me by Valerie--thank you Valerie.

As she is a Leo, cats have always been a big part of her life and I usually make a card with lots of cats on it but I wanted to show that her 'rubbish' was being used. I had to add cats somewhere so made a cat tag and also used cat paper on the inside of the card--sorry forgot to take a picture of that.

Hope you enjoy whatever you are doing today

AJJ and Three Muses

Hello Everyone. Nice to have you visit Jumbled Crafts and hope you enjoy what you find here today. Thank you for taking the time to call in.

Frida Kahlo for the theme at Art Journal Journal and some truly amazing entries so hope you will join in.

This is my third entry and I am back to painting again with matte emulsion and added poster paint. I also used some of the Crafty Individuals flower stamps and drew with a find black gel pen

Next is my attempt this week for Three Muses where it is Zetti Art and I am really rubbish at that-sorry everyone as there are some amazing entries by other people.

Mine is totally digital. I started off with a vintage photograph that was a freebie. The girl's face is by Outlaw by design and I have had it for years. The little boy has a Cristie Silva face-I won a few of her images in a challenge. Lots of effects to end up with this family portrait :)

Have a wonderful day all

Wish you were here at TIOT

Hello Everyone. Thank you for calling in at Jumbled Crafts.

Wonderful entries for the Things with Wings challenge and it will be so difficult for all of us to choose a top 5 I'm sure.

I know you will be eager to find out what is in store at Try It On Tuesday this time and to see all the wonderful ideas that my team mates have made to inspire you all to join in.

The theme is 'Wish you were Here'

This is what I made

I started out with two photographs we had taken at the North Beach in my home town, Bridlington. One had the cliffs and another the kite in the sky. I played around with them in Paint Shop Pro to make one photograph and I digitized that to look like a picture. Then I printed it onto a postcard. All the additions were cut from a postcard of a railway poster that I bought a long time ago-well all except the sun which I found on Google and I just love it :)

So I had this idea to go and take a photograph of the postcard I made with the same view in the background. I tried on the beach, on the prom and anywhere else I could think of but it was too windy near to the sea. Then I thought of the little seafront cafe with tables and chairs to stand my easel on. It did involve coffee and toasted teacakes but I got the picture I wanted.

Can't wait to see what everyone makes for the challenge.

Frida Page

I hope you are having a good day

Second post for me today and it is another one for the Frida Kahlo challenge at Art Journal Journey.

This Journal page is digital but I will print it out to go into my journal

I fused all three of the pictures together and I think it shows the reality that she painted-they fitted perfectly over each other.

Thank you for your visit

Inchie and canvas

Hello Everyone. Lovely to have you drop in at Jumbled Crafts-thank you for the comments you leave which are always so encouraging.

This week the theme for Every Inchie Monday is privacy. Not sure I have really captured privacy with my effort but I guess you are private behind a mask be it real or pretending to be something that you aren't to conceal the real you.

A squiggly background with a little mask I made and an obscure head--you need to look carefully to see that :)

Now to Country View Challenges where the theme is Word Play and also to Moo Mania and More where this time it is texture.

I chose the words first and then wondered how to represent them. I have had the wooden windmill for a while so that was just right for 'turning' as was the wooden screw emblie.  The wooden diamonds have points so they seemed right for the canvas. Windmill, diamonds and screws I bought from Crafty Emblies but not sure what happened to them.

I say canvas but it is really corrugated card which is part of the texture challenge. I added Grunge paste and metal paint to part of it to add  more texture. Then there is the wood as well and thick matte emulsion around the edges

Have a lovely day

ATC and Tag

Hi All. Nice day here in NE UK and I hope it nice where you are. Thank you for calling in at Jumbled Crafts.

At Wicked Wednesday the theme is Mythical Sea Creatures

I think my dark side took over here and would hate to think my creature is anything other than mythical.

Tag Along has the theme faces this week

I have had this part of face image for years in a folder so printed it out twice one smaller than the other. I stamped a butterfly on each and then decoupaged them to make the tag.

Have a lovely day everyone

Art Journal Journey

Hello Everyone and welcome to Jumbled Crafts. Thank you for taking the time to visit and I hope you enjoy what you find here in my little space in Blogland

For the month of August at Art Journal Journey the theme is Frida Kahlo. I have seen lots of works influenced by her art but never really knew much about the person behind the art. Thanks to Valerie's wonderful post at AJJ I know a lot more and I am looking forward to joining in and seeing what others make as well.

This is my first effort which I hope is a tribute to the artist. I started off with white matte emulsion and whilst it was still wet I blended in various colours of poster paints. Then it was imagination time as I added some stamps, drawings and shapes. All highlighted with felt tip pens. I thought it only fitting to take the page outside to photograph with some flower but it was very windy and difficult to take anywhere else but in a sheltered corner of the garden.

Have a wonderful day and I hope to see what you make of this wonderful challenge.
