Tag Tuesday

Hello Everyone-thank you for calling in at Jumbled Crafts.

I keep forgetting to show my tags on here that I make for Tag Tuesday as we write our own posts over at the blog. This week the theme is Pretty in Pink.

What a lovely theme to choose-I really enjoyed making this tag. I sprayed various inks and glitter mists to make the background then added lace to the bottom. The image is one from GeckoGalz. The other embellishments are out of my bits and bobs box.

Hope you all have a wonderful day

Inchie Engraving

Hi All. Not a lot of time today as we have started to decorated our bedroom. It isn't a very big room so there isn't room to move about much which doesn't help at all when two of us are trying to do very different things :)

At Every Inchie Monday this week the theme is Engraving and there are some wonderful entries already.

Mine isn't so wonderful. I thought of lovers engraving their initials on a tree trunk and whilst I was watching the rugby matches over the weekend I was drawing some inchies and cutting them out ready to stick on a background, this is one of them.

Thanks for dropping in and have a wonderful day

Craft Room and Rhedd's Creative Spirit

Hello Everyone who drops by and thank you for visiting. It is a beautiful sunny day here and we are off for a walk to the seafront and along the beach in a short while.

I have combined 2 challenges with this piece  and I did make it with both of them in mind so equal billing for them.

At Rhedd's Creative Spirit the theme is to change something as you wish--it will be that most times but there could be a twist sometimes so make sure you look each month. At Craft-Room Challenge the theme is the 20th century. Always great themes to think about there.

I bought 4 small canvases and I have used one of them to make this picture. The background and the flowers are made from kitchen roll that I used to mop up Spray Inks when I was making something else.

Amazing how many sheets get covered in the ink and they look so pretty. I used the Tattered Flowers Die to make the flowers.
The photograph is of my grandma and grandad and my dad and I changed it from sepia to a brighter shade. All dead now and I only have one aunt left of that generation and she is in her late 80s. The photograph was taken in 1920 and it was a time not long after the war and people started to relax more. I never saw my grandad without a black bow tie but I didn't think I would see him wearing one whilst paddling in the sea. I thought I would give the picture to my aunt as we are going to see her on Saturday and it is a long time since we met-up but we do speak on the phone quite often.

Have a lovely day

A Vintage Journey and Try it on Tuesday

Hi Everyone. Another crafty day for me so far but I will be watching the rugby later. Hope your day is going well and thank you for calling at Jumbled Crafts.

A new challenge blog has started this week called A Vintage Journey. It is about all things Tim Holtz and there is a very talented DT team so lots of inspiring ideas.

I haven't got a lot of TH's goodies but enough to be able to make something in his style so I made this card. I used Rangers Dylusion Spray Inks and the TH gears folder for my centre background then a Chocolate Baroque stamp and Distressed Inks for the card background. The stencil is by Dreamweaver and I used GP Gesso for that. The little wooden stamp I used is by Anita's and I have had it for years.  The flowers I made with Tim Holtz Tattered Flower die using the smallest one of the four flowers shapes. The swirls are a JOY die.

I also made this for the challenge at Try It on Tuesday where the theme is to make a birthday card using a mask or stencil

Have a great day

Tag Along and Wicked Wednesday

Hi Everyone and thank you for dropping by Jumbled Crafts. A warm welcome to my latest follower and I hope you will visit often and enjoy what you find here. Wet and dreary here at the moment so I am going to catch-up with posts and maybe a bit of crafting. The Para Olympics opening ceremony is this afternoon so I will be watching that so must find something useful to do while I watch.

At Tag Along the theme is Queens or Kings or both.

Here is Queen Victoria looking her regal best and a quote that is said to be hers. I found the origin here if you want to read about it. The tag has a background that I made from the image and a little flower stamp to fill in the gaps on the quote label.

Wicked Wednesday challenges are always ATCs and  I just love joining in there as you can let your imagination rip. Wonderful  fun to see what what the DT makes. This week the theme is Crazy for Coffee.

This is what I made. I printed the background onto a bit of canvas stuff--well it is really one of the ends cut off a window blind-just right for ATCs. Then I found a coffee mug image and made it my own with various things. A nice bit of copper wire and a little spring makes it look more 'dangerous'

That's it for now but I may be back later if I make something else.

Have a great day whatever you are doing

Inchie and Collage

Hello Everyone from a very sunny NE UK Coast. Thank you for calling in at Jumbled Crafts.

At Every Inchie Monday this week we have the theme explode to think about

I'm afraid my mind went a bit blank on this one and this is all I came up with :(

Then at Collage Obsession there is Monkey Business as this week's theme. I just love getting my digital brain working again after years of not using it very much.

I found the picture of the monkey and child on a nature site then I worked over it with various brushes. I also found a folder full of brushes I had made years ago with saying so used two of those and a simple frame to finish off the collage.

Photographs, Tag and Journal Page

Hi All. I am looking forward to a crafty day and one that will rest my legs a bit as we have done quite a bit of walking this last week

Crafty makes lower down after the woodland pictures.

Here is a glimpse of what we saw on a woodland walk 2 days ago-Spring bulbs everywhere carpeting the woodland floor. People take lots of bulbs to the walk to plant there so it is very colourful. We have taken saplings there that we grew from conkers and they are doing really well.

Simply beautiful

A curious squirrel--there are many in the wood

This is quite old and some of them have twigs growing through them

no buds on the trees yet.

Now to my crafty makes

This is my make for Moo Mania where the theme this time is London-no need to include a Moo you can make anything you like. I haven't been to London often but we always try to go on a bus and see all around the places of interest. I made this tag on some cardboard packaging so it is a bit rustic.

At Art Journal Journal this month the theme is Fantasy Scene.
I love the idea of wearing flowers in my hair and being surrounded by fantasy flowers so I made this page. Some painting, some stamping, some colouring with Promarkers and I made the fantasy 'me' in Paint Shop Pro a long time ago My ideal fantasy world would be like the one in Avatar but with out the humans invading.

Have a lovely day and thank you for dropping by
