Tag Along and Wicked Wednesday

Hi All. Last post from me for a few days as I am off to see my daughter in West Cumbria. Today I feel a bit in limbo as everything is ready for the off so I decided to fit a couple of challenges in as I missed both of them last week.

At Wicked Wednesday they have the theme Teddy Bears this week

Someone sent me this stamp image a long time ago so I have coloured it in the England football colours and made an England background. I think he may have played better than some of the England team

For Tag Along this week the theme is quotes.

I must be in a cute mood today which isn't like me at all.

I did the tag colour with alcohol inks to match this Daisy Doodle digi stamp that I coloured a long time ago and scanned. Then I added the little hedgehog and bird from some birthday cards that I had sent to me. The bee and ladybird stamps just filled up the rest of the space. I hope they all fit the quote I have chosen

Thank you for dropping in and I will see you when I get back

Butterfly challenge

Hello Everyone lovely to have you visit Jumbled Crafts today -thank you

I am so pleased that Blogger have sorted out the reading list problem now and that I can visit people on my list again.

This time at Butterfly Challenge the challenge theme is Monochrome. This is something I don't usually even attempt but I do have a friend who loves pink and has a birthday coming up soon.

I have only got as far as making the topper for the card as I need some more pink card to finish it.

I used the technique where you stamp the whole piece of card then remove parts of the ink with something damp. I used a bit of sponge. Then I used my Elusive Images butterfly stamp for the background images and picked raspberry Distressed Ink.  The flower is one I cut from my flower arrangement in the bathroom--I'm sure it won't be missed.

Now for my weekly digi indulgence. The theme at Three Muses this time is Dancers.

I used one of my photographs of our beach then added various dancers to it. Maybe I should suggest this sort of day to the council-that would liven things up a bit :)

Have a beautiful day all

Try It On Tuesday

A message to everyone whose blog I usually visit and leave comments. Something has gone wrong with my blogger reading list and the lists of lots of other bloggers. I went to the help website and it is a bug that they are trying to fix. Hopefully it will be fixed soon and I will be able to see what you have been doing again. xx

Hello Everyone. This is a scheduled post as I am hoping to be well on the way to Keighley when it is posted. We are going by train and hope to be able to have a ride on the steam train to Howarth which runs from Keighley.
Hope your week is going well and that you are ready for another challenge at Try it on Tuesday. Wonderful entries for the 'One for the Boys' with so many different ideas and styles to inspire everyone

The theme this time is to 'Use a Tag on a project or just make a Tag' so something for everyone to join in.

I made a hanging and took the photograph on a bank of wild thyme that grows under our raspberry canes. This was to match the verse from Midsummer Night's Dream

I started out with a piece of  thick card from a box and gave a good coat of white emulsion to add some textures. Then I used all sorts of sprays to get the colour I wanted. I let down some of the strong coloured Dylusions Ink sprays. The gold is Cosmic Glimmer Mist which I just love using.

The tag was embossed in a Cuttlebug folder then die cut and punched shapes added before getting the sprays treatment. I do love spraying maybe I should get a job in a tanning studio :)

Next I added a fairy by using Grunge Paste and a brass stencil. The butterflies are from Tando and also got the spray treatment.

Thanks to Von for sending me the beautiful stamped quote from Shakespeare a long time ago.

Have a lovely day

Maid Inchie

Hello everyone. I am hurrying along this morning as we are off to catch the train to Hull. We are going early as I would like to be back in time to watch Andy Murray in the opening match at Wimbledon. Sorry I haven't time to comment on blogs but I will try to catch-up either tomorrow or Wednesday.

At Every Inchie Monday this week the theme is Maid

I instantly thought of the card game old maid which I used to love to play when I was a child. I bet there will be some amazing takes on the theme--there always is. Hope you will join in.

Have a great day and thanks for calling in

Wood at Artful Times

Hello to everyone who pops in today and thank you for your visit.

This time at Artful Times the theme is to make something using wood somewhere. I chose the theme before I left Artful Times and I hope lots of you will join in with Neet and Wendy and go to see what they have made for the challenge

This is what I have made as my entry for the challenge

It started out as a humble, used, wooden coaster. I bought a box of them for £1 and have already plans for most of them when time allows.

The first thing I did was give it a generous coat of orange emulsion

While that was still wet I sprayed weak solutions of some of the spray inks I have then dried it with a hot drier which makes it all bubble slightly to give some texture and different colours.

The fun bit now. I stamped my CI-264 stamp onto the coaster. Always love Crafty Individuals stamps and this one is so beautiful. Then I played around adding bits of this and that. Texture down the side with a Tim Holtz  stencil and Grunge paste, fruit bag net, webbing, string and flowers. Then I dab bits here and there with a Bingo dabber. Must say I added another bingo dabber in parts and that was green but I had already taken this picture by then. Not sure why I added the gold peel-off as I don't think it says much really.

The last thing I did was give the whole thing a coat of yacht varnish which is a pale brown and very sticky but dries to a lovely shine and makes things stand out really well.

That's it for today I reckon as I am about to demolish all my crafty space to find out where the sockets are in this room. I am sure you, my fellow crafters, will know how scary that job is going to be.

Have a lovely day

Digital Collage

Hi All. Hope your day is going well. I seem to have had a busy week and most of it has been gardening rather than crafting. Love to be outside when the sun isn't too hot and there is a gentle breeze. Nice of you to drop in and thank you for the comments you leave.

Just had time to do a digital collage as I do love doing them.

This time at Three Muses the theme is Book Cover and at Moo Mania and more the theme is Cinema so this collage fits both challenges.

This is one of my favourite books by one of my favourite authors. I loved the film as well which I thought brought out the message in the book. I know lots of people that were offended by the book and the film but that's ok, there are plenty more books and films-enough for everyone's taste.I combined the book cover and scenes from the film for this collage.

Have a lovely weekend all

Inchie and Tag

Hello Everyone nice to have you drop by.
We are back to rain, wind and cold again so I am hoping summer hasn't come to an end already.

This week at Every Inchie Monday the theme is Lavender. It amazes me how there are such wonders to see from fellow crafters and all in just one square inch.

I did a lavender bag. I love the fragrance of lavender and it always reminds me of my grandmother.

Now to Craft-room challenge where they are asking for sun, sand and surf this time

I started out with a turquoise coloured tag and used Oil Pastels to make some sand, sea and sky.The little boat, waves and the clouds are cut out from paper. The sea spray is correction fluid and I did simple seagulls with a black pen--oh I drew the sun as well-wish I could do that for real today. I tried a sailor's knot for the tag tie but I am not sure I got that right.
We have lots of yacht races in our bay here and it is amazing how quickly they go even when it isn't really windy.

Have a great day all

A card inspired by TH

Hi All. Thank you for dropping in to Jumbled Crafts today.

Here I am bleary eyed after staying up to watch England get beaten in their first World Cup football match. Not sure it was worth the effort on my part as I thought they made a mess of it to be honest--I don't know too much about football so maybe I am being unkind to them.

At A Vintage Journey this time the theme is Wings and Things. All of the challenges there are to be strongly Tim Holtz  influenced and I am sure that can't be difficult as he seems to influence so many of the crafty things I see on blogs and also has lots of great videos to watch :) I often feel sorry for him when he is demonstrating as there is so much noise around and people wanting to ask questions.

I made this card and embossed the background in the TH clock folder and highlighted the embossing with a Distressed Ink or two.

The next part was to watch a video, again, about how to make a background with Distressed Inks, spritzer and use of the heat gun. Heck I have watched it so many times I have the link on my desktop but if I don't watch it I miss something out--old age I guess.
Then I splodged the summery, Distressed Inks onto some thin card and cut out the small flower shape, of the Tattered Flowers die, lots of times and used them as they were instead of creating different flowers with them. The bird cage is raised so I could let the bird look as though it could go in and out as it wished.

TH things I used--oops, forgot to add the embossing folder to the collection for this photograph. Not sure who made the bird die cut I was sent it by someone but the butterfly shape is by Tando.

I would like to enter this at That's Crafty as well where they have the theme birds.

Have a lovely day everyone

Chrissie xx

ATC and tag

Hello Everyone. A bit cooler here at the moment but I think it will be hot and sunny later. Hope it is nice where you are and thank you for calling in today.

At Wicked Wednesday the theme for the ATC this week is Black, White and one other colour

Black and white always suggest doodles to me so I doodled a background then added a piece of mauve card that I had printed with a digi image I won at W W a few weeks ago It is from time for tea designs.

At Tag Along this week they ask for pink

I used Distressed Ink- 'picked raspberry' for most of the tag but it seems to want to look a bit mauve in the photographs. Everything else is definitely pink apart from parts of the paper serviette I used for the middle and I left some of that cream and green.

Have wonderful day all

A mixture

Hi All. Thank you for visiting Jumbled Crafts today.

We have sunshine again and have had sunshine for the last few days so have been out and about to make the most of it. Hope it is nice where you are and that you haven't had the horrendous storms that have caused damage and cost lives in other parts of the world. I am thinking of the people who are affected by these awful happening.(((( ))))))

I have made a tag for three challenge blogs as I seem to have gone astray with crafting challenges at the moment and I forget that I add more to my list most days. The photograph was taken with my dream catcher as a background and I am going to leave it there as it adds some colour.

Beccy's Place  the theme is anything you like so long as you use one of her images. That isn't difficult at all as she has wonderful images and lots of them are free and some already coloured. The one I used is 'Clematis' and was already this beautiful colour

Tando has the theme 'Life is too short to be anything but happy' I made an add on with the quote which I love, and also some Tando Butterflies-sprayed and wet embossed with clear embossing powder.

Butterfly Challenges I only just found this blog but hope to be able to join in future challenges. They have a Bingo challenge this time and I chose Wet Embossing-Butterflies- Flowers. I coloured my butterflies and wet-embossed them with clear embossing powder. They are quite shiny in real life.

Thank you for the challenges and I hope it ok  to combined them.

Now to my digi collage indulgence for this week. At The Three Muses the theme is 'Underwear'

At last I get to use a David Beckham pic and he is wearing a vest :) I created the coloured background with layers and brushes and the other underwear images are a mixture of brushes and Googled images.

Have a great day everyone

One for the Boys at TOT

Hello Everyone and thank you for dropping by.

Amazing entries for the last challenge-all very beautiful.

This time at Try It On Tuesday we have the theme 'One for the Boys' so now is the time to top up your male
cards, tags etc and join in with us

Wonderful makes by the rest of the design team so pop along and see what they have made for inspiration.

I made a card. First of all I distressed the edges of the white card with Rusty Hinge Ranger distressed ink. I then added a piece of strong red card with a bit of marbling in it. The two backing papers I made in Paint Shop Pro and mounted them on thin black card. The image came from a sheet at--

I changed the colour of one picture so I could use it twice on the card. The images were backed with the red card. Then I printed out the clock image which I have had a long time. The clocks were raised as was the little ticket.

Hope you will join in and show us your 'Boy' cards

I would also like to enter this at Country View Crafts

Inchie

Good Morning All. Start of a new week and hopefully we all have a great one. Always good to read your comments and thank you for taking the time to leave them or for just dropping in.

At Every Inchie Monday the theme this week is Legal. The entries get more and more inventive and some are just incredible. Difficult to imagine the wonders that can be shown in an inch square.

Mine is quite simple a pile of law books and a gavel

Thought while I wasn't posting much today I would show you my tags walls

They really brighten a plain wall and I'm sure some of you recognise ones that you have sent to me. Still lots more to add yet--aren't tags just great :)

Have a lovely day

Wicked Wednesday

Hi All. Terrific sunshine here so far so I am off into town the beach route and maybe a coffee on the seafront overlooking the harbour. Nice to have you drop by-thank you for visiting

This week at Wicked Wednesday the theme is to add a Die Cut.

I did the ATC  background with splodges of watercolour paint. The I added a Nestie Oval Die cut. Lastly I added the Purple Dragon----

It started out with a little pixel design that was from way back when in the days of dial internet. I made an online friend called Shez and we used to challenge each other with all sorts of things and ran a few MSN groups to teach Paint Shop Pro. Yesterday I found a disc with a lot of our pixel designs and this was on it--not sure if it was Shez or me that did this one as we just shared everything

This is the original drawing which was done one pixel at a time then filled it in by digital means-I am sure some of you know how to do this so I won't bore you with details. I had to enlarge it quite a bit to use on the ATC.

That's it from me today as I won't be doing any more crafting. Off to town then there is the men's tennis final and the Canadian Grand Prix to watch later. Life is so hectic lol. I do knit whilst I watch so that's crafting I think.

Hope you have a great day

Moo Mania and Tag Along

Hello from a beautiful sunny NE UK Coast. We are still decorating but I took time out to do a bit of crafting and will maybe take time out for a little walk as well as the weather forecast for tomorrow is awful. Hope it is lovely where you are and thank you for calling in at Jumbled Crafts.

This time at Moo Mania and More the theme is Feathers. The 'and more' means you don't have to add a moo at all as it is anything goes so long as you follow the theme. I combined this challenge with Tag Along as there the theme is Wings.
I do love joining in both of these challenges so I am sure they won't mind that I made a '1 for 2' this time.

This large tag started out yesterday when I found a beautiful crow's feather on the way to the car boot sale. The trees along the road are full of Crows Nest and the noise is quite scary at times. They also visit our houses and sit on the television aerials. We had to get ours moved as it was splitting the wood it was fastened to. They are such powerful birds. It is only recently that they have moved nearer to housing estates and busy roads so I thought the frontiers quote was apt.

The feather on the tag is the one I found-the bird is an image I found on Google and so are the background trees.

Have a great day

Art Journal Journey

Hi All-been raining in the night but it is now brightening up a bit so maybe off to the car boot sale soon. We made a rash decision to start decorating the bedroom at some point today--that could wear off if we give ourselves time to think about it :) Hope you have a great day and thank you for calling in.

At Art Journal Journey the theme is Houses. I have learnt so much since taking part there and was so nervous at times as there are some awesome entries. Susi has encouraged me with all her wonderful comments and I now realise that I can do all sorts of different kinds of art and enjoy learning.

I copied Valerie's great idea and did lots of background pages in my journal so I could choose one background I liked for this theme. I used felt tips and Promarkers to create my picture which is influenced by a picture I saw online. Looks like the page came adrift a bit so I need to stick that back in.

Thank you to Susi, Valerie and all the people who share their ideas in Blogland and inspire us in ways they may not realise.

Rolling Pin

Hello Friends and Followers from a wet NE UK Coast. Looks like we will get wet again today as we have to go into town. Yesterday we decided to stretch our legs and have a walk along the seafront. Bad idea as the heavens opened and we came back looking like drowned rats. I hope the sun is shining where you are and thank you for calling in today.

I made this project for 2 challenges--both equally inspiring blogs.

At Rhedd's Creative Spirit the theme is always to alter something and usually anything you like as it is this time. Then at Our Creative Corner they have the theme 'Flaming June' and want to see lots of orange on your projects.

I decorated this sixteen inch wooden rolling pin that I bought for just £1 at the car boot sale. It was new but I still have my mum's old rolling pin if I need one for baking.

First of all I painted the ends in orange emulsion paint then added crackle varnish to give them a better finish

Next came a piece of paper for the middle. This is a piece from the Debbi Moore, Shabby Chic, Paris Bookazine. I added lace and ribbon at the edges of the paper them made flowers from the same ribbon and lace. Also the leaves are made of ribbon.

I am thinking of screwing in some pot hooks to hang things on when I find a space to hang the rolling pin :(

Have a wonderful day

Tag Tuesday and Collage Obsession

Hi All. Rainy day here so far and a wet forecast for today so lots of crafting for me I think. Hope it is better where you are and thank you for finding the time to drop in at Jumbled Crafts.

At Collage Obsession the theme is Nature and it is the last challenge there until September 1st, hope you will join in.

This is my collage which brought back a lot of memories from the early 2000's I made the background using fancy brushes and curly effects. All of the images were from a lovely lady called Mel who used to supply us with freebie images for Paint Shop Pro work. I did change some of the colours to fit in with my colours theme. Can't even find her now or I would have given the link-thank you Mel if you are still around.

At Tag Tuesday this week the theme is Roses

I used an old stamp I had for my background then highlighted some of it with red felt tip. I also used another stamp at the right hand side and stamped a bee image twice. I am going stamp mad on this as I stamped the word roses as well. I have been sorting out my stamps so that is why I used some of the old ones on the tag.

The 'roses' are made with the six petal, flower shape on the Tim Holtz Tattered Flowers die. Lots of tutorials on how to make these flowers but mine never look the same as the ones in the tuts.

So that's it from me so far today--may be back later if I make something else-have a great day

Tag, Inchie and Iluminaria

Hello to everyone who drops into Jumbled Crafts and thank you for calling in.

Yesterday was a beautiful sunny day so I did lots of gardening which also means a lot of chatting when people pass by and we are in the front garden. Always nice to catch-up on our the local news and always something different happening that we didn't know about.

This week at Tag Along the theme is Tick Tock.

I have had this Crafty Individuals stamp for a long time and I think it fits this theme perfectly. All I did was stamp it onto a white tag and colour it lightly with Promarkers. A bit of a CAS tag but not much room for much of anything else. I would like to link this to Crafy Individuals  as well as their theme this month is 'Tag You're It'

The theme at Every Inchie Monday this week is 'Khaki' Couldn't think what to do for this really so nothing very different from me this week

A shirt coloured Khaki and edged with black and then cut-out and decoupaged onto the inchie

Just thought I would show you these pictures of an exhibition that we went to in Blackpool whilst we were there a couple of weeks ago. It is at the Winter Gardens if you happen to be going to Blackpool and is truly amazing. Difficult to explain without spoiling it so this is just a small taster. The exhibits are all made with steel frames and silk with lights inside. Made by the Chinese to celebrate the festival of light.

Added this one with me in it just to show you the scale of the exhibits-they are enormous.

That's all for now--hope you have a great day
