A card inspired by TH

Hi All. Thank you for dropping in to Jumbled Crafts today.

 Here I am bleary eyed after staying up to watch England get beaten in their first World Cup football match. Not sure it was worth the effort on my part as I thought they made a mess of it to be honest--I don't know too much about football so maybe I am being unkind to them.

At A Vintage Journey this time the theme is Wings and Things. All of the challenges there are to be strongly Tim Holtz  influenced and I am sure that can't be difficult as he seems to influence so many of the crafty things I see on blogs and also has lots of great videos to watch :) I often feel sorry for him when he is demonstrating as there is so much noise around and people wanting to ask questions.

I made this card and embossed the background in the TH clock folder and highlighted the embossing with a Distressed Ink or two.

The next part was to watch a video, again, about how to make a background with Distressed Inks, spritzer and use of the heat gun. Heck I have watched it so many times I have the link on my desktop but if I don't watch it I miss something out--old age I guess.

 Then I splodged the summery, Distressed Inks onto some thin card and cut out the small flower shape, of the Tattered Flowers die, lots of times and used them as they were instead of creating different flowers with them. The bird cage is raised so I could let the bird look as though it could go in and out as it wished.

TH things I used--oops, forgot to add the embossing folder to the collection for this photograph. Not sure who made the bird die cut I was sent it by someone but the butterfly shape is by Tando.

I would like to enter this at That's Crafty as well where they have the theme birds.

Vintage Journey and Wicked Wednesday

Hi Everyone.

We had a sunny day here yesterday and no forecast for rain today or tomorrow so I am smiling :) Dull and cold but not wet is good I think. I will be racing into town and back as there is tennis on the telly and it is Nadal playing first then Andy Murray later. Hope the weather is good where you are and thank you for visiting Jumbled Crafts-always nice to have friends pop by.

At A Vintage Journey this time we are asked to 'get some texture.' As always the challenge is based on Tim Holtz- products or techniques.

I started off with part of a cardboard box and painted it with lilac emulsion paint--I coated it on so that added texture. Next it was sprayed with Rangers Ink Spray and dabbed with distressed ink

I found a book page I had used to soaked up various blobs from other projects so I filled in a few gaps with 

Rangers Distressed stain, put it through the clock embossing folder and cut out a piece to add to my cardboard. The tape down the side is a Tim Holtz stencil with Grunge Paste and I distressed it with a couple of colours. The tattered flowers were also made from a splodgy book page. Not sure what this will be used for--I think maybe a book front cover.

Now to Wicked Wednesday where the theme is Fairy Wonderland. 

and I drew some wings on the image in Paint Shop Pro and filled them with part of the image so that they matched.

The background is spray ink and a sponge and I added glitter around the edges for the wonderland bit.

Still a few days left to join in so hope you will get out your fairies and have a go with an ATC. Not many of us join in and it is a lovely DT with great ideas.

A Vintage Journey and Happy Mail

Hi All. Hope you have a very happy and peaceful Easter. We are going for a brisk walk as it is still very cold and windy even with the sun shining. Grand Prix to watch and also the snooker so I am a happy bunny :)

At A Vintage Journey they ask us to make Spring Flowers using techniques by Tim Holtz. They do say they don't have to be actual Spring Flowers so long as you use Spring colours.

 This is the tag that I made. The background is in Distressed Ink-picked raspberry and peacock feathers. I misted it with water then dried it. Used bubble wrap to stamp on the left and the Tim Holtz tape stencil on the right. The Inks and the stencil I bought from the Craft Barn as I won a voucher to spend with them.

Not sure who made the little post card as I was given some of these by a friend. I used the pointer from the  TH Expedition set to point to the Mother's Day Flowers.

The flowers I made using the TH Tattered Flowers Die cut. which I use quite often as I love the different flowers you can make with it. They were cut from a strong paper napkin that I had sprayed with Ranger Dylusion Inks in various colours. Then I cut them out, scrunched them up and soaked them in water to add texture to the petals.

Now to my Happy Mail which was from dear Alison (butterfly)

A while ago I said how much I loved the beautiful heart on her blog that she had made for a project. Well I now have it in real life as she sent it to me with other goodies as well--thank you so much Alison.

This is what I received and I can already see that they would all go together to make something special--well I hope it will be special.
