Journal page and Tag

Hi All from a very wet and windy NE UK coast. Wonder when I can say from a very hot and sunny -----? Looks like a h-----k and crafting day for me. Thank you for dropping by and making the day a bit sunnier.

Art Journal Journey are getting some wonderful entries for their sea challenge. It is so good to see that everyone has their own style and it comes out in journal pages I think.

After saying all that about people doing their own style I have done a page in the style of one of my favourite Yorkshire artists. Her name is Bridget Wilkison and you can find out more about her and see some of her work here. I have visited many of the places where her work is sold but have only ever bought postcards and then I have sent them to other people as we have been on holiday at the time. My page isn't like her work really but it did inspire me.

This is my tag for this week at Tag Tuesday where the theme is wild flowers
The photographs were all taken in our garden and I collage them to make the tag. We love to grow wild flowers as they attract insects which pollinate the veg plants and also look beautiful at the same time.

Have a lovely day all and send some sunshine our way if you have any to spare

Love Chrissie xx

Inchie and Reminder

Hello to everyone who calls into Jumbled Crafts. Always nice to have you here and thank you for visiting.

As today is Monday it is time for another inchie for Every Inchie Monday. It is great to see that more people are joining in this challenge each week and have fresh new ideas as well.

The theme this week is leopard and I coloured the head of a leopard that I found on a children's drawing page-I did make it smaller in Paint Shop Pro. It is on felt with the usual bling.

Just to remind you that there is still over a week to enter the challenge at Try it on Tuesday where the theme is 60s retro. You can see what I made for my DT piece here if you missed it, and what all the rest of the team made on the TIOT blog. Hope you will join in with us for this fun challenge.

Have a lovely day. We have sun today and I am off to the Bank Holiday Monday car boot sale just around the corner from where we live.

Journal page and Collage

Hello Everyone. It is heavy rain and a cold wind here today so I am pleased that I will be watching lots of snooker and doing some crafting at the same time. Thank you for dropping by and hope you like what I made for today.

Another journal page for Art Journal Journey where the theme for May is Sea.

Paper Piecing Sea side page

All you need is a comfy chair and these simple things

The book was an old holiday catalogue and I cut out lots of sea coloured bits of paper for the sea pieces, then sand and dunes pieces. Next bits of different sky and the wonderful beach hut image. I cut some shapes and then stuck them all on my journal paper to make the scene. The whole thing was sprayed with a fine blue mist to add a bit of texture. It was a lot of fun to make
Today is the start of the snooker finals and the finish of the Tour de Yorkshire bike race so I have another idea for a sea page--hope it works.

Next I made a digital collage for Collage Obsession where the theme this week is Paris.

The picture was one I found on Google but could well have been one of ours as we were in Paris about 20 years ago when all the blossom was out at Notre Dame The damsels were a free download but the effects and framing were my own ideas.
I love the song by Oscar Hammerstein so added a bit of that as well.

Have a nice day everyone.

Journal Page and Photographs

Hello Everyone and welcome to Jumbled Crafts. Thank you visiting as I do love visitors.

At Art Journal Journey this time the theme is The Sea. As I live at the seaside I am hoping to get lots of ideas for this challenge.

I used emulsion paint for this and quite a thick brush. Then I used white and black pen for the birds and to highlight the figure leaning on a pole.

Yesterday the Tour de Yorkshire cycle race started here in Bridlington and it was very busy along our end of the seafront.

Here is team GB with a very much smaller van and team than many of the other countries taking part

The lifeboat was brought out of its usual hiding place as that was where all the crowds were gathering. Where it is on the picture is at the top of the ramp leading to the beach.

The sky team had 3 cars and a very large van and also gave out maps of the route for the race and flags for us to wave.

These are Bradley Wiggins spare bikes and he had a fancy stall nearer the start line where he was signing autographs and chatting to all who could get near. I did hear someone say a lot of the bikes cost about £10,000

This building was built over night and is for the media coverage. It all came on the back of transporters then slotted into place like magic.

Introducing the riders. I couldn't see much at all. I should have taken a stool.
We watched the coverage on the television as it was part of the route that the bus took last weekend when we came back from Whitby. I am looking forward to seeing the next part of the race today and the last part tomorrow which will include York and the finish in Leeds

Stamp People

Hello Everyone from a wet, cold and windy NE UK coast. We are going out for lunch with Vic's sister and his mum and we have booked for a very wild and exposed part of the coast. We did book when it was a sunny and calm day. Thank you for calling in at Jumbled Crafts.

At Three Muses this week the theme is Postage stamp People

Not sure where I was going with this really but I did enjoy doing it.

Have a happy and peaceful day

Try it on Tuesday goes Retro

Hello to everyone who calls in to Jumbled Crafts and thank you for dropping by.

Our last challenge which was New Beginnings and there were some wonderful ideas from that.

I'm sure you have all come to see what the new challenge is at Try It On Tuesday so I had better tell you without  delay. We have '1960'S Retro'. That was the time when I got married, had children and wore some very strange clothes. They didn't seem strange at the time because everyone else was wearing them. Why not go here for some inspiration from my teamies-they always have such wonderful ideas.

There are a few photographs of my project so skip to the end if you get bored.

I made a 1960s folder/book

It started life as an Amazon Folder--the most useful things for crafting

I painted it with white emulsion paint then, while it was wet, dropped on various alcohol inks which showed up the brushstrokes of the emulsion

The inside I covered with some square design papers-very 60s- and folded a strip of paper to stick to the spine so that I could add pages.

 Page 2
 Page 3 and 4

Then I added blank pages with 1960's designs that I found on Google to download. The Beatles are on the inside of the back of the folder.

Still lots of room for more pages and lots of things to add. I haven't added any text yet as I need a new white pen which I think will look good on most of the pages.

Can't wait to see what everyone makes.

Have a lovely day All

Inchie and Journal Page

Hi All. Just got back from a wonderful weekend away in Saltburn. We had never been there before so enjoyed exploring all there was to see in the area. I hope you had a great weekend and thank you for calling in at Jumbled Crafts.

At Every Inchie Monday the theme this time is Shell

I have used a real shell I found on the beach. I stuck into flet and added some bling.

At Art Journal Journey they still want to see quotes or poems this month.

I did this digital journal page before I went away but didn't have time to post it. I used part of a Degas painting and one of his quotes.

Have a lovely rest of the day
