A Tale of Two Pages

Hello All--nice to have you pop in to Jumbled Crafts

Beautiful day here so I thought I would try out my new pedometer that arrived yesterday.

I had done 6000 steps by the time I came back home but with my small step length it was on 2.6 kilometers and at 176 calories so I didn't use up the toasted teacake and butter I have just eaten. I will try harder tomorrow :)

Now to my pages.

The first one is my Alpha page for the J challenge at the The Craft Barn I love the Jacobean period with its style both in furniture, clothes and needlework.

I painted the page in the colours that were used at that time and added some pictures I found on Google of needlework from that period. I have had the stamps for a long time and do like to use them whenever I can.

This Journal Page is for Art Journal Journey where they have She Art this time.

I painted this face yesterday for another project so thought I would print it out and use it on my she page.

I stamped various flowers and some leaves around the face and the little hearts to fill in gaps.

Then I added some texture with a stencil and gesso.

The background is painted with acrylics in feminine colours.

The verse is from a song I love and I typed it out and printed it onto acetate to stick onto the page.

Off to add a few more steps as I had planned to do 10,000 each day.

ATCs

Hello to Everyone who pops in to Jumbled Crafts and thank you for all the encouragement you always give to me. It is a beautiful sunny day here and we are going to tackle the lawns with the scaryfier--well I find it scary :(. We usually fill our brown bin and our neighbours as well when we do this job.

At Craft-Room Challenge this time the theme is ATC -just one or more if you like.

These are three of my own work.

I started off by painting this face in Paint Shop Pro. For those who haven't tried digital painting it is like ordinary painting using a brush and paints but with many more choices of brushes and colours.

I used the same face for all three of my ATC cards but added different sorts of things. Then I printed them out on card and added other elements. Picking out things with a white pen, adding my initials and a bit of bling here and there.

Photographs from last week

We took over 200 photographs in and around Skegness so here are just a few.

The first two photos were taken from hides at the Gibralta Point Nature Reserve. We went very early one morning before the mist had cleared. The water was very low because there hadn't been much rain at all for weeks. Lots of birds to spot though on the water, in the air and on the land. It was so peaceful with only bird sounds--and us chatting :)

We went to Mablethorpe and on the little sand train. If you go to the end of the train trip you can hike to the Nature reserve there which is also a seal sanctuary. They rescue injured seals and when they are well they put them back into the sea gradually.

There were lots of baby meercats that stole the show for me.

Here is a Gannet. They nest on the cliffs near to where we live but I never realised they were so big as I haven't been close to one before.

Can you guess what this is? We saw quite a few of them in different places we visited.

If you guessed 'Insect Hotel' you were right. I am going to try to collect things to build one in our garden as they are works of art I think.

Lots of blue sky and great grasses on the dunes along this coast.

Blot on the Land(Sea)scape or Work of Art?

I love to see windmills out at sea on a windy day though I know many people would disagree.

That's just a little taster of the things we saw.

Wicked !

Hello All. Dark and Dreary here at the moment and lots of rain forecast so a good day for me to do lots of crafting :)

At Tag Along this week the theme is 'Something Wicked This Way Comes' Amazing how wicked has come to mean something good these days but I have stuck with evil for my tag.

 

This mixed media with the images coming from Graphics Fairy and the quote from Google. The little silver emblies I have had in my stash for ages and I just knew they would come in handy one day.

One Flower Wednesday and a tag

Hello Again-second post for me today.

At Journey of a Quilter we can show our patchwork hexi-flowers each week on Wednesday

I amde these while I was away as I took some tiny hexi shapes and scraps of material with me and really enjoyed making them. Always great to visit Karen and the other entries-thank you girls for letting me join.

This is the tag I made for Tag Tuesday this week where the subject is Bows, Beads and Buttons. I made mine from felt.

Autumn Colours

Hello Everyone who pops in.

Just managed to fit in a bit of crafting before tackling the ironing. At Tag Along  and Artful Times the theme is Autumn Colour/ Autumn Glory. I'm only just in time for the Tag Along challenge because I was away all last week.

 I did a quick walk around a few of our neighbours gardens and found some leave sand berries. These I wiped with baby oil and then sprayed them with hairspray so they wouldn't dry out. The background I painted in autumn shades of acrylic paint and then found the quote on Google.

Hand-bag Inchie

Hello Everyone one. I hope your week has gone well while I was away. Sorry I couldn't comment on posts but a big thank you to all the people who left comments on my blog- wonderful as always and a nice welcome back to read them.

I made this inchie before I went away so thought I would post it. At Every Inchie Monday the subject this week is Bag

I used a bit of my eggshell background that was left over from something else and added a little bag charm I have had for a while.

Now to see what has been happening in Blogland while I was away and without the Internet. Sorry I won't have time to leave comments but will start again tomorrow when I have done the washing and some shopping :(
